My
name is Andrew Fowle and I set up Kibo Joinery in 1986. Having
previously been in partnership in a successful Joinery firm, and on
return from a year out travelling round the world, Kibo Joinery began.
In
the early days the product range was diverse, however more recently I
have specialised in stair manufacture. Designing, drawing and supplying
wooden stairs, spindles, handrail including geometric handrail and the
unique ascending volute. Moving into stair manufacturing became a
necessity when having been commissioned for a contract it became
apparent that there were few people capable or willing to supply ramped
and wreathed continuous handrailing.
Drawing
is a key part to the design and manufacturing process. Having originally
been drawn in 2D on a drawing board I now use state of the art 3D CAD.
Being
able to draw the stairs and its surrounding structure enables both my
self and the client to view the finished product from every angle before
beginning manufacture. Guaranteeing that the stair and its parts fit the
space given and meet with all the relevant regulations.
The
workshop is located in a rural setting in the village of Great Brickhill
Milton Keynes.
